The World's Longest Staircase in Switzerland

The world's longest staircase is located in Switzerland - it has 11,674 steps and is 3.5 km long. It is mainly used for maintaining the funicular on Mount Niesen and is closed to the public on regular days, but once a year it is opened for a sporting climb. Interestingly, it was built as early as 1910 and is officially listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
