In the USA, the 'oldest child' was born - it came into the world from an embryo that was frozen more than 30 years ago. In 1994, American Linda Archerd underwent IVF and received four embryos: one was used immediately, and the other three were frozen. Each year, the woman paid $1000 for their storage but never decided to give birth again. As a result, she gave the record-long stored embryos up for adoption - and a healthy boy was born from one of them a few days ago.
