Japanese Scientists Near Treating Down Syndrome

Japanese scientists have almost learned to treat Down syndrome - they succeeded in completely removing the 47th chromosome. The CRISPR technology helped - it allows for targeted DNA modification, precisely removing the unnecessary. After the procedure, gene activity normalized, the nervous system became more active, and metabolism slowed down. In other words, the body began to readjust to normal human activity. So far, tests have been conducted in the laboratory, and scientists are preparing their method for trials on humans.
