Sports and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) are most effective in combating insomnia. CBT helps change negative thoughts and behaviors related to sleep, while moderate physical activity, especially in the first half of the day, aids in normalizing circadian rhythms and improving sleep quality. Scientists from China studied the potential of popular methods to combat insomnia. They focused only on non-pharmacological approaches and found that one of the best "remedies" for nighttime wakefulness is physical activity. Scientists concluded that yoga, tai chi, walking, and jogging are the most suitable types of physical activity to improve sleep quality and combat insomnia.
