Study Shows Mid-Life Weight Loss May Extend Life

Scientists have proven that weight loss in middle age may extend life. Scientists analyzed health data of 23,149 residents of Finland and the United Kingdom. The age of research participants ranged from 30 to 50 years, and their health was monitored for 12 to 35 years. The results showed that overweight women and men who lost weight in early middle age subsequently maintained their new physical shape throughout the observation period. Moreover, all participants in this group saw improvements in health and longevity.
