Blue Origin's New Shepard: Successful Flight with All-Female Crew

April 18, 2025

Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft successfully completed a suborbital flight with an all-female crew. Among the passengers were singer Katy Perry and Jeff Bezos' fiancée, Lauren Sanchez. The spacecraft ascended over 100 kilometers, crossing the Kármán line - the theoretical boundary between the atmosphere and space. The participants spent approximately four minutes in weightlessness, and upon return, Katy Perry kissed the ground. The flight marks the first suborbital journey with an all-female crew since 1963 when Valentina Tereshkova ventured into space.
